This week, I started the skills practice paintings. The ones I've finished look pretty good. The colors are very close to the original colors. I haven't ran into any problems yet. No changes to original plan. No feedback. My biggest strength this week was artists develop art-making skills because I hadn't painted with a palette knife before. I've also been trying to come up with an idea for a painting but I still don't know what I should do.
I think the best part of my painting is the sky because it shows a "there's a light at the end of the tunnel" type of thing. It doesn't look that good but I still like that it's there. What I don't like is how the space in the sides of the road looks. The problems I've ran into are that I wouldn't get the colors I wanted when I painted and thinking about things to make the painting less boring and better. When I didn't get the color I wanted I would just mix the color more until I got the color I wanted. To make the painting better, I just had to listen to the feedback I got (from you) to change what wasn't working. I changed the sky and added orange to the painting, which was not part of my original plan. This made the painting much better. I think my biggest strength this week was artists take risks and grow because it's hard for me to change my mind once I think of something and using the feedback I received to make my painting better made me grow as an artist. I really didn't think a lot about the feedback I received, like I do with almost everything, I just did it and it turned out better than what I thought it would. Sorry, I made this too long.
