The most difficult parts on this practice were the charcoal scales because it was hard to make each box darker than the box before since charcoal is already very dark. All of my charcoal scales turned out kind of bad because most of the dark charcoal boxes looked the same. The ink scales were also hard to make but they turned out pretty well in the end. The easiest part was the pencil scales because I've had more practice with values using pencils before and because they're not as dark as charcoal.
This skill is going to help me grow as an artist because now I know how make different values with ink. I hadn't practiced that in the past. I also hadn't used a lot of the pencils and some of the charcoals before. Using these materials on the value scales was a good practice. I will keep in mind that I can use all of these materials in the future to shade a drawing.
