Project 3: Lamps
Watercolors
2015 Painting This painting represents being out of place. The street lights are enlarged lamps that obviously don't belong in the streets. While making it, I really didn't know what I was doing. I painted with the watercolors over and over, which made it look bad in the end. Either way, I think the idea of not fitting in and being in a place where you think you don't belong is present in the painting. It's something that most people will feel at one point or another in life, and it's something I've felt many times as well. |
Project 2: Grandma's House
Acrylic Paint
2015 Painting My grandparents' house is one of my favorite places to be at. It is far away from the noise of town, which can sometimes get very annoying if you want a quiet place to be at. At my grandparents' house, it is so quiet and peaceful that it makes me want to live there forever. I get a peaceful feeling there that I wouldn't want to ever get rid of. The early mornings and late afternoons there are simply perfect. Words really can't describe how much I love this place. |
Project 1: The View of a Student
Acrylic Paint
2015 Painting As a high school student, I often feel very busy with homework or house chores, but once I get done with my resposibilities it's impossible for me not to think about the future. This doesn't just apply to me, but to mostly everyone. Not knowing what to do or what will happen in the future gives me a feeling of being lost in some random place. Many different things can happen, but I'm starting to believe that whatever needs to happen is going to happen and these things don't necessarily have to be something bad, like I think they will. The future is waiting for everyone, and it's up to us to make it amazing. |
